Pathway to CREW
Curious about the courses and requirements for becoming Crew? This document provides the pathway to crew, outlines the necessary courses, explains how to access them, and provides information on ordering uniforms and accessing resources throughout your journey to becoming rated as Marine Rescue Crew.

The document is a downloadable PDF file that can be saved and contains all relevant links.




e-calendar
Register for courses offered by Marine Rescue NSW (headquarters).
Courses may have pre-work requirements, which will be specified in the course guidelines.




Foundations Training
These modules are provided and managed by Marine Rescue NSW headquarters.
Certain modules serve as prerequisites for courses listed in the e-calendar.




Otter
Otter is used as the file system storage location. All documents, certificates, and current licenses must be uploaded to Otter.
Remember "if it's not in Otter, it doesn't exist"




MRPJ Videos
Volunteers at the Port Jackson Unit have created induction and training videos offering guidance on operating various features found on the Port Jackson rescue vessels.
Standardised procedures are demonstrated in these videos to ensure consistency.





MRHQ Videos
Marine Rescue NSW has produced training videos that cover topics such as handling rescue vessels, air berth operation, promotional videos, and Axiom (chart plotter) training.
Instructional videos on the Axiom systems demonstrate how to create waypoints, routes, tracks, etc.





Seahawk
Seahawk is used for incident reporting and vessel tracking. This version of Seahawk is not live
and any edits made are for training purposes only.





Workbook Requests
Access webforms to order your Learner Activity Workbook (LAW Book) or request a new sea time log book.




Uniform Order
Access forms to order or return uniforms. New (provisional) members should order name tags and polo tops using FORM MR799. All uniform requests must be sent to the Unit Commander via email for approval.
All uniforms must be returned when members resign from the organisation.





Resources Directory
The Resources link grants members full access to files on base computers and iPads on the vessels.

Files include Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Local Operating Procedures (LOPs), training material, bulletins, updates, navigation aids, charts, formulas, templates, and forms for ordering uniforms and submitting leave requests.
